Specific Risks

Nipple necrosis. This is more relevant in the setting of

  • Smoking
  • Diabetes
  • Very large breasts undergoing large reductions
  • Redo surgeries
  • Previous radiotherapy

Changes to sensation

  • Nipple
  • Breast

Long Term Risks

  • Recurrence of ptosis or sagging relayed to ageing, skin laxity or weight changes
  • Recurrence of increased breast size related to weight changes or inherited conditions that may require further reduction surgery
