Dr Cameron grew up on the Yorke Peninsula before completing his schooling in Adelaide. He attended medical school at Melbourne University, before undertaking basic surgical training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He was accepted into advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Adelaide, which he completed in 2018.
Dr Cameron completed a PhD as part of his training, which investigated a novel treatment for hypertrophic scarring. He was the recipient of a number of scholarships and awards for his research, including the RACS WG Norman Trauma Fellowship, the RACS Sir John Loewenthal Fellowship and an NHMRC post-graduate scholarship. Dr Cameron moved to Bendigo in 2019 where he worked in both public and private practice, serving the population of central Victoria and Southern NSW. He was Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Bendigo Health from 2022-2024.
His particular interests include breast surgery, including breast reconstruction, skin cancer and melanoma surgery, hand surgery and body contouring after massive weight loss.
